What is Pilonidal Sinus?

Formation of pits, dimples or painful abscess at lower back at midline of buttuck folds (known as natal cleft) is called Pilonidal SInus. It is formed because of hair present inside the skin in the sinus cavity. It may spread silently on either side of the buttcks if treatment is not provided. It usually occur in young people (15-35 years).
